I'm Anish Poosa— a passionate student, innovator, and volunteer dedicated to improving emergency care. I created the EmergencyID app to ensure first responders can access critical patient information instantly, right from the lock screen. Through volunteering and shadowing medical professionals, I’ve witnessed the life-saving impact of accurate patient data firsthand. I'm driven to keep innovating and making a real difference.

Why I Built EmergencyID?

The Story Behind EmergencyID In 2023, my uncle was walking home from the grocery store when he suddenly collapsed on a busy street. Bystanders rushed to help, but with his phone locked, no one could access his medical history. By the time the ambulance arrived, it was too late—he had suffered a cardiac arrest due to high blood pressure. If first responders had known his condition earlier, CPR or immediate intervention could have saved him. Shaken by his loss, I kept wondering—what if there was a way to make medical information instantly accessible in emergencies? Determined to find a solution, I researched various ideas and eventually developed EmergencyID—an app that allows critical health details to be accessed even from a locked phone. Today, EmergencyID is helping people receive timely medical assistance when every second counts. While I can’t bring my uncle back, I hope this app can prevent others from facing a similar tragedy.
